| Description |
First of all, let me apologize for not attaching the original document, which would make this all much easier. It is a confidential legal document and I don't yet have permission to send it to you. But perhaps in the meantime you can instruct me on what information about this document I should collect to help you diagnose this problem. Here's the problem: 1. I take a linearized PDF file and de-linearize it so that I can add a cover page. 2. I insert the cover page and save it. 3. The document looks normal in PDFedit, Okular, and Google Docs. However, if I open that document on a Windows computer using Adobe Reader 7.1.0 or 9.2.0 then "w" is replaced by "f" and "c" is replaced with "e"! This happens on only one page of the document, and some of the lines on that page are not affected. If I delinearize the document with PDFedit as before but then use PDFshuffler to insert a cover page, this problem does not occur. Can you think of a reason this would happen? What can I do to diagnose this further short of sending you the document in question? Thank you for your help. |
